I had an e-mail exchange with some folks at ActBlue.I was hoping to get a banner ad to link to their fundraising site, but it seems they don't have one at the moment. If you're someone who could make a few images for ActBlue to use for banner's, I'm sure they would be grateful. If you can, you can leave a message on ActBlue's contact page, or e-mail me; Bluetexan'AT'bluetexas.us, and I'll get you in touch with the folks.

Chris Bell says "When Rick Perry has a bad idea, Carole Strayhorn has backed him up, putting lipstick on the pig, time after time after time." From this story in the Houston Chronicle. Looks like "Grandma" likes to play flippy-floppy. And I can't believe Strayhorn thinks she should use her campaign moniker in the ballot, calling it a 'nickname', yea, right. Thanks, Off The Kuff.

Virgil Van Camp, in the Amarillo Globe-News, that troops in Iraq when in house-to-house combat, should shoot anything that moves. Van Camp says: "The murder of civilians is an anomaly in American military history, but it's the terrorist way of life." So US troops should become terrorists? Thanks to the Panhandle Truth Squad Glad the Globe-News isn't my local paper.

What a fantastic idea, a fundraising site for any and all Democrats! ActBlue is actually a PAC that collects funds for Federal and State Democratic candidates. You choose the candidate, use your credit card to make a contribution, and ActBlue collects all the contributions and forwards them onto the candidates. And ActBlue keeps none of it for themselves, just enough to cover the credit card transaction. Now go help make Texas a blue state, ActBlue and help out a Democratic candidate. Thanks, Brains and Eggs.

"The House abruptly dropped plans Wednesday to vote on a renewal of the Voting Rights Act, a seminal law from the civil rights era, after criticism from Republican lawmakers from Texas." From this story in the Houston Chronicle And I love this quote: "I don't think we have racial bias in Texas anymore," said Rep. John Carter, R-Round Rock.

After an attempt at self-hosting, I bit the bullet and am now paying for some shared hosting. In fact much more shared hosting than I need right now. Let's do this thing. |
